You find yourselves in a cozy tavern filled with townsfolk - chatting plesantly amogst themselves. Suddenly, a loud CLANG echoes from outside—the clock tower in the middle of the town square skips wildly.

The innkeeper begs for help: something is wrong with the tower!

Look around the square - and question any Witnesses
Each party member rolls + Persuade.

If any player rolls less than 10, you annoy the townsfolk with your pestering questions, and get told to go down a dark alley - getting yourselves Knocked Out

Otherwise, the townsfolk tell you about a shadowy figure coming from the clocktower. He made his way toward the market.
Inspect the Clocktower.
Each party member rolls + Luck.

You make your way into the tower, looking for clues. There's loose gears tumbling from the tower, and if any player rolls less than 10, you get Knocked Out

Otherwise, you find a small enchanted gear (mark a +1 next to a stat) - and see a space where the Clockwork Crown was supposed to be! As you're looking around, you see a shadowy figure making their way towards the Market.

Otherwise, you avoid the mugger and follow the shadowy figure to the Market.
